Solve : Need help with RAM memory.?

So I kinda suck at this.. I had 1 gig ram and I went out today and got 2 gig more. I inserted my new ram and turned on my COMPUTER and now it says that i have 2 gig ram.. I tried cleaning my 1 gig stick but it wouldn't help..

Here's some info on what i got..

CPU: Intel Pentium 4 3.00GHz
Mother Board: [Imedia MC 2590] AMD 480X (200) (Xpress 1600 / 200 Rename
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 7900GT 256mb
Sound Card: Realtek HD Audio (ALC888)
ETHERNET: Realtek RTL8139/810x
CPU CLOCK : 3000MHz
Memory Size: 2GB
O / S : Windows XP Professional SP3 32bit


Anyone knows what to do? Did you RUN a scan at crucial.com ...... it will tell you how much ram you can use......from what I found it looks like the max for that motherboard is 2gb.
