Answer» HELLO! I have a dell laptop, inspiron 8600 running windows xp. I KNOW for a fact it had a modem on it, and also a wireless card, I' pretty sure. I had to re-install windows on it, and since then cannot get the modem to work. i went to the dell website, and downloaded the drivers i thought i needed, however, there was 2 choices for a modem and I wasn't sure which one to CHOOSE. I picked the first listed, but it will not work. I have now tried to go install the other choice, but for some reason everytime i try, it says installation failed. how can i figure out which drivers i need? the first one i chose, downloaded fine and seemed to work, however when trying to use dial up, it wont detect the modem. also, there are MANY choices for wireless drivers, so I dont even know where to start with that. any ideas? thanks!DLoad and run Everest Home...Just in case your Google button is broken: http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4181.html Only use drivers from the Dell site.
