Solve : need to convert video file to either .avi or ,wmv for DVD players?

Answer»

I need to convert video file to EITHER .avi or .wmv to play on DVD players for others to see. Which extension WOULD work on most DVD players .avi or .wmv? Does anyone know. Not all dvd players will play anything other than normal DVDs but of the ONES that play other formats, avi (DivX, Xvid) is probably the most likely. Avoid qpel and VBR video for widest compatibility.

Just use this: http://www.dvdflick.net/DVD uses MPEG2 which can't be put in avi or wmv containers. If your DVD player is Divx compatible, you can use a video converter like Any Video Converter or FFMPEG to convert it to avi with MPEG4.I want to download YouTube videos and convert them from .flv to whatever is compatible with most DVD players so other people can view them on their DVD players also. Does most DVD players handle .MPEG2 extensions or .avi or .wmv?Quote from: Linux711 on December 08, 2010, 12:53:46 PM

If you want to burn .flv to DVD using DVDFlick, make sure to install 1.3.0.6 VERSION.
The latest version seems to have issues with converting .flv files.
