Nero will not recognise cd-rw disks. It will read and burn dvd+ and DVD+rw and cd-r and dvd+r. I can erase DVD+rw , but if I put in a cd-rw it will give me a message "please incert a disk of correct type or modify the setting of your compulation to make them COMPATIBLE" How do you change the settings. The burner is a NECnd1100a on secondary set as master with nothing else on the secondary. I have updated the firmware to 1.a3. ThanksDon't know for sure but I think you may need to INSTALL InCD if have not done so. I believe it WOULD be on your Nero CD.

What's your OS? Did it ever work correctly or did you just install it? If it used to work, but not now, I would sugtgest uninstalling and reinstalling as a basic first step. lazlo..... WITHOUT being there it's a little difficult to be sure ...but it sounds like "Incd" may hold the solution .

dl65 Thanks Guys for the quick replys. The computer is a new build (first time for me) In has an intel MB with a 3.1 gig celeron prosseser. 512 of RAM. Win xp pro with service pack 2 (I do not have service pack 1, I could't find it on the MS site. The burner a NECnd1100a is from another computer that I had with win xp pro and it worked fine. I loaded InCd and it did not change my situation. It is really weird since all other function work well. It will copy a cd with DVD X copy. It will burn and erase a DVD+rw. It will burn a data dvd on a DVD+rw and aDVD+r. I have tried re-installing Nero SEVERAL times. any other thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks
