Answer» Hey, Just cracked my new MY-Link USB External Optical Drive out of the BOX and hooked it up to my Asus (1005HA) Netbook via USB and nothing - no recognition at all. And I have no idea how to make it work, I know I'll just GET tied up in knots so I'm hoping someone on here might ... I'd appreciate if anybody here who knows could help me? Thanks! Except now it won't play the DVD films (region 2, original copies). Any suggestions more than welcome thanks!It probably needs to be formatted first... Windows will not recognise an unformmated drive... Use the cD that shipped with the drive to prep it or if you didn't get one DLoad the FREE tools from the drive manuf. site. Yeah I think I will, I've just sent a email through to the sellers! It's just frustrating when you buy brand new kit and it doesn't work but I guess it's only as reliable as the man who made it!It's not that common for something to be DOA, but it does happen. That's ACTUALLY my primary reason for shopping locally, I might spend a couple of dollars more, but it's easier to get service and support(usually). Good luck, let us know.
