Answer» I have a rather pesky issue here. I run a C552US laptop by Compaq/HP.
In device manager, one of the "unknown devices" is listed as Network Controller and claims to not have a driver installed. This is the reason why I cannot get on the WLAN. In addition, I have installed HP Wireless Assistant and it INDICATES that my WLAN is "disabled," and any attempt at "enabling" it, if it is even possible, seems to be in vain. Any help on finding the right drivers for the network card WOULD help a lot.

Is supposedly a list of all the components of the laptop. As you can SEE, the network card is labeled as "integrated" and is NAMED rather generically, which is of no help when I am trying to google up the right drivers. Do you have the original Compaq Driver CD for that laptop ? ? If so re-install the MBoard drivers and that should solve the issue...
