Hi i'm new to this site but i am having problems with uploading files to the internet... i use a asus wireless card (both on my laptop and pc). The pc works fine with file uploads and everything.... but the laptop can not upload files... it surfs the net ok though. I have tried formatting the hd and reinstalling windows and PLAYING with firewalls and anti virus settings... i'm on winxp HOME. If i go in to safe mode wiht networking support it works so its definately a software thing and not a hardware. any help would be greatly appreciated.. also ask me more questions if you feel the urge.Be more specific...
What kind of errors do you get?If i wait long enough it will eventually comeup with page can not be displayed... this is using photobucket.com.... some times it will like load the top tiny bit of the picture and the rest will be blank.... i have tried with both mozilla and ie.What type of image is this? PNG? JPG? TIF?its a jpg immage...The fact that it works in safe mode but not in normal mode would SEEM to indicate 2 things:
1. You have a lot of unneeded services running at startup
2. You have a lot of programs loading unnecessarily at startup
Pare down the programs that load at startup. You can always use the start button or a shortcut when they are needed.
Check to see what services are running at startup. If it is a default XP INSTALLATION you can bet there is a lot unneeded crap running. For guidance on services http://majorgeeks.com/page.php?id=12. Read and follow directions carefully.

PS: majorgeeks.com has mirrored the pages from blackviper.com, which is currently unavailable. It is PROBABLY the most comprehensive guide on the internet.I have tried turning off all the programs starting up with the computer (didn't help).... had a bit of a fiddle with the services but didn't realy know what i was doing but i will read up on it and have a bit more of a fiddle and let you know
