Solve : New and need help!?

Answer»

I had the brilliant idea to 'clean up' my computer files and now I'm in a pickle.  I am trying to run MS Excel but am being told that I am missing file d:\office\pfiles\msoffice\office\msppt9.olb.  I don't have my Office cd as it is at the cottage....I thought it smart to 'clean up' my computer up there as well and had to reinstall Office altogether.  My question is....Is there anyway for me to GET this file online?  I won't be back to my cottage for a couple of weeks (it's a 4 hour trip there and back) and am desperate NEED to run Excel.
ANY help would be appreciated.  Thanks so much.
Tay.Hate to tell you this...but your going to need the installation disks...Welcome to the CH forums.

Might get lucky, below are a couple of quotes from this site:

To install SP3 without the original Office XP CD

When installing SP3, you may be prompted to insert one or more of your original Office XP CD-ROMs. If you do not have access to your original Office XP CD-ROM you can install Office XP SP3 Full File Version (58925 KB). Follow the instructions on the screen to complete installation. Note: Some users will still be prompted for the original CD when using the Office XP SP3 Full File Version, depending on your installation of Office XP. For more information, please see the Microsoft Knowledge Base ARTICLE, (828451) OFFXP: Why Service Packs, Updates, and Security PATCHES May Require the Office XP CD-ROM.

So which version of MS-Office are we considering?

Microsoft Office 2000 - Premium     Microsoft Office XP - Professional     Microsoft Office 2003 - STANDARD     Microsoft Office 2003 - Professional     Microsoft Office 2007 - Enterprise

Would you be referring to one of the above?  SP.3 for Office 2k contains the file you need.

Please read this post..

Good luckI wonder if this will help - it is my equivalent file from my Office 2000 - a 200k file.  I have put it on one of my servers.  Mind you, from the filename it sounds like a powerpoint file.

Download it from HEREAre you distributing MS copyrighted product? LOL It's called - help out a person in distress.

Heck - Office 2000 is so old I'd almost think it was stone age!!  No return post from the OP so wondering anyways if the effort was worthwhile!
