Yes. AVAST, AViIRA and AVG antivirus products all have antivirus and anti-spyware protection. Those are free, if you don't need the advanced protection solutions coming with paid VERSIONS.

All three are decent free antivirus/antispware products though I'd consider AVAST and AVira more only because more people are having installation issues with AVG for some reason.

In any CASE, one antivirus program will be enough on your computer. As for spywares, it's a good IDEA to download, and install these two:
- SUPERAntiSpyware Free Edition: http://www.superantispyware.com/download.html
- Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware (trial version is fully functionable): http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php
Run occasional scans. Quote from: Broni on May 23, 2009, 02:50:34 PM

oh I'd keep windows defender on if you got that and it's not in any way slowing down your pc. Microsoft does UPDATE those. Personally, I've never seen Windows Defender catching anything. IMHO, waste of time. Quote from: Broni on May 23, 2009, 03:41:02 PM

Better than nothing if you are not going to be getting anything else. Quote from: 2x3i5x on May 23, 2009, 03:44:58 PM

Ok. All I meant was that if you have nothing on your pc, I'd rather just have that on. Well, we recommended few AV, and antispyware programs, so there is no reason for the OP to have nothing. Quote from: Broni on May 23, 2009, 07:23:32 PM

I meant that that's the very least that should be on, but of course get EVERYTHING else.
