Solve : New game problem from a VERY green computer user? |

Answer» First off, I appologize if this isn't the right spot to post this, or if I could have found the info elsewhere! I know so little it's a miracle I made it to this site to even ASK a question, so please bear with me! Can I download whatever I need to get this game to run?I'm afraid you will need to buy a new graphics card. Hold tight and some other people will give you advice on what card to buy. Could you please tell us what game it is as well, it could help us.Hey, thanks for the reply. It says the graphics controller is an Intel(R) 82865G, which means nothing to me, of course. It's just a cheap WalMart game called Shells of Fury. Guess I'm naive and figure with a computer that's about 1 1/2 yrs old, games should work w/o upgrading, but I guess I'm wrong! Looking forward to info on what type of graphic card I need to upgrade to, and, of course, I have no idea where a person GOES for that kind of thing!System requirements Recommended: Athlon® XP 2600+ or Pentium® 4 with 2,4 GHz or comparable Processor, Windows XP, 1.024 MB RAM, 256 MB 3D-Video card with PixelShader 2.0-Support, Soundcard, DirectX 9.0c compatible Hardware, DVD-ROM-drive. http://www.playten.com/eng/publishing.php?page=65&view=54 Thanks for replying. I realise now that I don't have what I need to play this game, but I'm wondering what, if anything I can do to remedy this?We need to find out what hardware is in your computer. Download, unzip, install and run Everest Home Edition Everest Select Computer>Summary from the left hand screen. Right click in the right hand screen & select Copy All Paste the details in here.Next stupid question: when I click on the Everest link you provided, do I select open or save? Quote It's just a cheap WalMart game called Shells of Fury. For a cheap game, it requires a lot from your computer...Ya, I'm thinking the $18 I spent on the game isn't worth the trouble! However, $18 is $18 and my son REALLY DOES want to play the darned thing...anyway, here's my Everest summary. I'm quite sure you guys can make more SENSE of it than I can: FieldValue Computer Operating SystemMicrosoft Windows XP Home Edition OS Service PackService Pack 2 DirectX4.09.00.0904 (DirectX 9.0c) Computer NameSYMONS (Family Computer) User NameMargaret Motherboard CPU TypeIntel Celeron D 330, 2666 MHz (20 x 133) Motherboard NameDell Dell DE051 Motherboard ChipsetIntel Morgan Hill i865GV System Memory1024 MB (PC3200 DDR SDRAM) BIOS TypePhoenix (08/15/05) Communication PortCommunications Port (COM1) Communication PortECP Printer Port (LPT1) Display Video AdapterIntel(R) 82865G Graphics Controller (96 MB) 3D AcceleratorIntel Extreme Graphics 2 MonitorDell E773c [17" CRT] (641805A531RY) Multimedia Audio AdapterIntel 82801EB ICH5 - AC'97 Audio Controller [A-2/A-3] Storage IDE ControllerIntel(R) 82801EB Ultra ATA Storage Controllers Disk DriveHDS728080PLAT20 (80 GB, 7200 RPM, Ultra-ATA/133) Optical DriveTSSTcorp CDRWDVD TS-H492C SMART Hard Disks StatusOK Partitions C: (NTFS)73171 MB (36135 MB free) Input KeyboardHID Keyboard Device MouseMicrosoft USB Wireless IntelliMouse Explorer (IntelliPoint) Network Network AdapterIntel(R) PRO/100 VE Network Connection (192.168.1.64) ModemConexant D850 56K V.9x DFVc Modem Peripherals PrinterFax USB1 ControllerIntel 82801EB ICH5 - USB Controller [A-2/A-3] USB1 ControllerIntel 82801EB ICH5 - USB Controller [A-2/A-3] USB1 ControllerIntel 82801EB ICH5 - USB Controller [A-2/A-3] USB2 ControllerIntel 82801EB ICH5 - Enhanced USB2 Controller [A-2/A-3] USB DeviceUSB Human INTERFACE Device USB DeviceUSB Human Interface Device |
