Answer» I recently did a recovery on my laptop HOWEVER after doing so my laptop speakers are not working please helpQuote from: victz on June 14, 2012, 11:38:23 AM I recently did a recovery on my laptop however after doing so my laptop speakers are not working please helpDownload & install the audio drivers from the laptop manufacturer. What else isn't working? And how did you do this "recovery" ? ?If you haven't already make sure you do all your Windows Updates including the optional updates. Next Right Click on Computer or My Computer, select manage, it may take a sec... Then select device manager if the sound DRIVER is not INSTALLED you can download it from the HW vendor or point at windows.old on the C drive if it is there. If you do have the driver installed you can right click on it, uninstall it, right click on something else and then select check for hardware changes to make it re-install the driver. Other Notes on sound - green is usually the output but try them all just in case - on external powered speakers if you turn up the volume and tap the end of the jack you should hear a noise ( if you don't your speakers are likely bad - make sure you are not muted :-) - Oh and if you don't have speakers plugged in (or have them plugged into the wrong place the speaker I on will usually show that sound is disabled Hope this helps, Thanks Mike Mathis Spam REMOVED |
