There are a couple of things you may not be aware of using java based chat rooms / java based web sites.
#1... For windows 7 there are 2 different versions 1 for 32 bit and 1 for 64 bit for Java
#2... Go to java to update your java http://www.java.com/en/ if you can not update your java it can be installed from a stand alone java installer http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp be-careful when installing java it will want to install the ask toolbar etc just take that check mark out and continue with the install
#3... If you are still having issues after updating. Then java temp jars may be corrupt. Go to control panel and in the box TYPE java and when the list is complete click on java in the list. Then in the java control panel on the main tab look at the bottom for temporary internet files and click on the "settings" button then look for "delete" files and then you can close all boxes. Then restart your browsers so it can take affect.
Also another bit of info there is java PLUG in / add-on it just depends on what browser you are using so even if you update the java in the control panel you still may have to update the java plug in for Firefox and then check your other browsers.
99% of the time one of the steps above fix the issue. IF the issue is still there it may an issue with the sever that you are trying to join in so you will need to contact the web site admin, Mike
