Solve : Norton Ghost competitior?

Answer»

Greeetings,

I was wondering if anyone has any experience with recovery software. Back when i used windows XP i used a nice little utility CALLED Macrium reflect. They had and still do a free version which simply makes an image of a drive, and later you can restore to that image within minutes. The only issue that annoys me, is that you have to make "recovery MEDIA" so burn a CD/ use a flash drive to make a separate environment to do the format and restore. The issue is that ive found the CD is at times proprietary to a machine, making me have about a half dozen or more copies of the same thing.

I was wondering if there is a piece of software that works just like Macrium but has the NORTON Ghost ASPECT that puts a built in recovery mode like a off the shelf PC that has the "press F12 to boot into recovery" or even that hidden but not having to make this recovery boot media.

Thanks ACRONIS True Image has a startup recovery manager option that allows you to press F10 at boot to access it. It is not activated by default, you have to choose to implement it.Great, BUt what i was wondering is there any free software titles like this? If im going to pay this much i might aswell get Norton Ghost.
