Solve : NTSC v. PAL when playing a DVD on a reg PC?

Answer»

I was WONDERING if all or most regular PC's (I have a HP Media Center PC m1070n) can play PAL dvd's... (I can't seem to find the info on the HP site.) I live in the U.S. and I want to see a region 0 PAL dvd. (I dunno if this band Nightwish is gonna come out with a NTSC version of the dvd... lol I POSTED that question on the Ask the Band part of the site and they have yet to reply.)

Sorry if this is in the wrong section... I'm not quite sure if this fits here...

And I also have to say I've asked a few questions on this forum before and you guys really help... you rock!  most PC dvd players can switch between ntsc and pal, however some have a inbuilt counter that only lets you switch a certain number of times

the is no differnce in the hardwareWhy would they limit the number of times you switch? I mean you bought the DVD-player to play DVD's. Quote

Back-door legislation CRAMMED down lobbyists throats by the powers that be because they couldn't GET what they wanted in Congress...

g__gle R.I.A.A. and decide for yourself.

Careful, it'll MAKE you puke.Is there anyway to find out if mine allows me to play PAL a limited amount of times... or all the time, without me actually having to buy the DVD first and testing it out?

( Dvd is like 30 Euros so I need to check first...)Get the make and model # of that DVD drive and check the manuf. website...
