Solve : Office XP install problem?

Answer»

I just completed installation of Office XP (formerly was using Office 2000 premium) and when I try to open Outlook, get the following message:

"Unable to display the folder. Microsoft Outlook could not access the specified folder location. The .DLL FILE for the information service could not be found. MAPI was unable to load the information service PSTPRX.DLL. Be sure the service is correctly installed and configured"

Does anybody have ANY IDEA what this means & how I fix it? ??

Thanks!!Try uninstalling and then reinstalling Outlook... My guess is that it did not install properly when you were upgrading...

[glb]Flame[/glb]thanks Flame...I did that several times...it appears that it's a problem that's corrected with installing the latest Service PACK, ALTHOUGH when I did so it didn't fix it....so I tried the manual fix, and voila...another question THOUGH: where does my computer typically keep my calendar & contacts files? I need to import them & can't remember where they're stored...duh...
:-/Actually the calendar and other progarms should have their own Import/Export utility... Usually this can be done by clicking on File -> Export ... After clicking on Export, follow the on-screen instructions...

[glb]Flame[/glb]thanks again Flame...I'll try that..Ok. Get back to us... I'm interested...
