Solve : Only 1/2 space used copying MP4 files (Karaoke) to SD Card.?

Answer»

I recently bought a Leadsinger II Karaoke mic that is an "all in one" system.  It USES SD cards for the music.  It supposedly can support up to 8 GB cards.  With this purchase, I received 2 DVDs, each with approx 500 Karaoke songs in MP4 format.  I bought a 8 GB SDHC card but it would only WORK with less than 500 MB of songs on it.  I assumed that the SDHC card may not be compatible with the mic.  I then got a couple 2 GB "basic" SD cards.

When transferring the MP4 Karaoke files from either the DVDs or from my computer to any of the SD cards, it will only use / allocate approx 1.1 GB (or half) of the card space.  Both cards show approx .8 GB of free space.  Given the size of the files, I should be able to save about 200 songs per 2GB card.  I can only save 120 or less on each.

Is there something I can do to maximize the space on these cards?

Thanks in advance. What OS ? ?Vista Quote from: dbagbrown on December 27, 2009, 09:02:50 AM

Putting the mp4 files into 2 or 3 separate folders then COPYING  the complete folder to the card may work.
You may have to reformat the cards, Here is a link to a PROGRAM designed specifically for reformatting SD(HC) cards.
