Solve : Opening disc drive temporarily kills internet connection?

Ahh-

here's an INTERESTING tidbit. On both my PCs, my USB card is sharing a Interupt with my IDE controller.
If this is the case on your PC as well, it would kind of explain the problem.Quote from: BC_Programmer on January 08, 2009, 09:21:58 PM

Sorry about the delay in replying. Been pretty busy.

My IDE's IRQ isn't being shared with anything else but I did notice the my Video card and my PCI USB 2 card are sharing the same IRQ. I'm not really sure what that means since I'm don't know the workings of the IRQ system on Windows.

Here is my UPDATE so far. I've uninstalled the Linksys Wireless software and I'm using the Windows XP config and haven't had an issue since. I've tried it on both the PCI USB 2 card and on the USB 1.0 port and it seems to be acting normal now.
I'm going to KEEP trying to create the issue in different ways to try and PINPOINT what was actually causing the connection to fail.

ButcherboysJust an update:

Everything working fine with the above configuration. Seems the issue must have been with the third party software. Haven't had a DISCONNECT since removing the Linksys software.
