Solve : Opening Documents?

Answer»

When I try to download forms, job applications, etc. they open in my notepad. There they don't make sense because it is just a bunch of numbers, etc. I have Windows 7. How can I get them to open somewhere else, such as Adobe Reader? Thanks!Right-click on the file and choose "open with". try checking out the "default programs" settings of windows.

I have windows vista though and you just go to START menu and click on "default settings" button and then click on "set your default programs" or something other linked settings you want to change. Win 7 should be SIMILAR, as it's base is win vista. You don't need to do that. Just right click, open with, and put a tick in the box that says "always use this program for this file type" Thank you all so much!! You guys are life savers!!Quote from: nas6car on August 01, 2010, 01:36:19 PM

I've just looked at all of your posts and you've yet to make one HELPFUL, intelligent post on this site. In this case, the problem was solved 3 days ago and you post "check the default settings you have set". Yeah, okay.Excuse me. I am 73 yrs. old & have to ask questions for anything on computers. Sorry you say I have not posted anything intelligent.
Guess I will not use your services any more. Have a great day.I obviously was not addressing you sir. Reread my post - I quite clearly was referring to the inane posts by norrisdaniel. This has happened TWICE in the last week. This is why I've decided to use names, even if I quote somebody.Quote from: BC_Programmer on August 06, 2010, 12:41:18 PM

BC - probably a good idea, BC I quite agree, Allan. It happened to me as well, and I ended up explaining at tedious length about how quoting works. I shall not in future; I shall promptly unsubscribe from the thread. Some people are too dumb to be helped.
