Solve : Opera question? |

Answer» Im using the Opera 9.0 browser and I was looking in the preferences and I can make it so the browser is identified as IE. Does that mean that if say I download the google bar then I would get the google bar in Opera?Give it a try and see. I personally avoid ALL toolbars but if you like 'em.....I avoid all toolbars myself. I just thought the google toolbar was ok. Its supposed to have the 2nd best popup stopper in the world. Or so thats what the ratings SAID after doing a google search.Let us know how you like it and keep all your PROTECTION up to date before, during and after the install. The google bar is a fantastic popup blocker based on the results of popupcheck.com. But the "Identify as Internet Explorer" option doesnt work... Ive yet to find a decent popup blocker for opera.Personally, the default Opera pop-up blocker works fine for me. However, no, unfortunately, simply choosing to identify Opera as IE does not ENABLE it to use IE-supported tools. I believe all that is for is to (supposedly) show to a web-page that you are using Internet Explorer so that it doesn't create some KIND of problem reading HTML or so that if the page has something specific to IE (think a Java applet or something) that it won't go haywire because of an un-identified browser something ALONG those lines, however, that is jsut my theory. |
