Answer» I got a new laptop from an auction with no operating system. Is there a way to copy the OS from my COMPUTER at home and put it on the laptop? I've got the instructions on how to make one from the system i got.Is this the same thing as a system install disk?You can not do so if the laptop is connected to the Internet and you are USING Windows XP. You can CREATE an image using a program such as Norton Ghost Since a laptop makes use of entirely different hardware than a desktop computer, Windows will become very confused and most likely either not REGISTER or not registry the hardware installed properly resulting in reduced PERFORMANCE or simply no performance at all.W2k RULES!
