Answer» I have used my HP iPAQ 2215 quite successfully with Outlook 2002 and ActiveSync quite successfully for two years. This spring I installed Office 2003 and all *censored* broke loose. I LEARNED that I can only use Outlook 2002. My question is how to transfer all of the data into 2002? when I uninstall Outlook 2003 and install Outlook 2002, the software cannot find my data. Any help would be appreciated.
Jim
Outlook folders and data are transferred through the use of a PST file. When you create a new PST in Outlook 2003, it asks you if you want to create a Microsoft Office Outlook Personal Folders file, or an Outlook 97-2002 Compatible Personal Folders file. You want to create the LATTER.
See here.
Hopester,
Thanks for your quick reply. I think I need a "step by step" through the process. At the moment, I am running only Outlook 2003. Whenever I remove 2003 and load 2002, I cannot access my folders. when I removed 2002 and reload 2003, my folders are back. Of course, all this hinges on whether the HP iPAQ 2215 can synchronize with Outlook 2003.
I suspect this is much SIMPLER than I think.
Jimchoo Jim, the link I provided details how to create a PST (backup) copy of all your Outlook folders. Did you do that?Hopester, I am just learning to use this SITE and missed the "see here" link. I think this is what I am looking for. I am headed out the door right now, but will let you know later today or tomorrow or how it goes. MANY thanks. Jim
