Solve : Outlook 2003 - Minimize to Tray?

Answer»

Does anyone know how to MAKE it so that when you close Outlook, it closes the Window, but they tray icon will stay so I can still Send and Receive messages?

FlameI would just minimize it. Then you will get a little letter in the system tray when you get new mail.I do that now, but I hate having things in the taskbar lol I was just wondering if I could STICK it in the tray and just leave it there.

FlameYou're a weird kid Flame, but I like you. User Key: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\10.0\Outlook\Preferences]
Value Name: MinToTray
Data Type: REG_DWORD (DWORD Value)
Value Data: (1 = System Tray, 0 = Taskbar)

I'll still be able to open the window and minmize it if I want to, right? lol This is the registry?

lol Of course...But no warranty
Yes this is registry.

Don't forget to back up before proceeding...Thanks I'll give this a shot tomorrow afternoon I hope.

FlameI don't see a 1.0 folder. ONly 11.0 and 8.0 ... I went to both... ONly 11.0 had a prefrences folder, but did not have the key we're looking for.

FlameHmmm...Interesting. Can you add new Key? Try to add new key under 11.0 and give the values above to it. 10.0 is for Outlook 2002 probably. So it's expected that 11.0 for 2003. Just wild guess...
Or see this if helps:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-au/assistance/ha011601291033.aspxWow! Great JOB! That's all it took! I saw that Hide when MINIMIZED option, but I figured that clicking on that would hide the ICON, so I didn't click on it. Thanks very much for your help!

FlameMy pleasure Flame. Glad that could help Hacker...
Lol I hate that title I never mess with the registry EITHER... That's probably why I couldn't find anything lol
