Solve : Outlook data file cannot be accessed?

Answer»

Just installed OFFICE 2010 - previously had 2003. Everything installed and when I open Outlook I can see all the old emails. However, I can not get new emails. When I do SEND/receive I get this ERROR message

Sending error 0x8004010f
Receiving error 0x8004010f

Outlook data file cannot be accessedA google search on your behalf brought forth this solution for the sending error.

truenorthThanks for your response. I downloaded and ran the tool. There were a lot of things that it fixed - but... Outlook still gives the same error. Any other ideas.  ThanksThe only other thing that COMES to mind--given that was a Microsoft fix for that precise problem--is to uninstall the Office 2010 and REINSTALL it. From Add/remove programs unless it has it's own uninstaller. truenorthThanks. The strange thing is that it does display all the old emails and folders which are all in the outlook file. Why is it just having a problem on send and receive? Why would uninstalling help. I had trouble installing it at first and had to reinstall with the repair option. Could that have anything to do with this/Don't know whether that was a factor or not but the fact that you did have a problem may have left remaining unsolved issues. truenorthClick on FILE - ACCOUNT SETTINGS
Are youre email accounts listed? And on the bottom of that window is the data file correct?
