Solve : Outlook Express local folder files are gone?

Answer»

I use outlook express and have for the last 5 years for several email accounts I have. I have a local folder called Sent where copies of all my sent email goes. I periodically clear out those I don't need, but it had a lot of EMAILS in it.

I went to this folder today and it had cleared itself 2 days ago and only those files sent in the last 2 days are there.

Where did all the other email files go and how do I get them back?

HELP!

Did you look in trash? Do you have HIDDEN files and folders turned on? That's all I can think of, except to prevent this happening in the FUTURE, check the preferences of Outlook. Or copy that folder somewhere else occasionally. Be aware that there might be a way to get them back, I just don't know it. Wait for someone with more experience to post here.Quote from: typhoeus on September 18, 2008, 12:39:12 PM

You're talking about Outlook. He's using Outlook Express, not Outlook.

Outlook Express has 5 standard folders, Inbox, Outbox, Sent Items, Deleted Items, and Drafts. You say you have a local folder called Sent. Do you mean the standard Sent Items folder, or is this a folder you created? Quote from: soybean on September 19, 2008, 07:33:49 AM

Sorry. LIKE I said, I don't know much. Just wanted to give this thread a bump, really. Good luck, rjf.
