Ok please excuse if not in right topic am new first post of many I imagine.

Every time I try send a e-mail from another site I get message about default mail, then I get a address for a gmail acct that for what ever reason won't take my password. How do I get rid of the gmail thing and use my OUTLOOK acct as default mail. Have searched all over can't find what I am looking for.Open Internet Explorer and go to Tools, Internet Options, and select Programs. If Outlook is not shown as the default email program, change it to Outlook. Click Apply and OK. Did that solve the PROBLEM?Ok outlook is posted as DEFAULT MAIL, how do I change what acct is listed. I have dumped all the e-nmail accounts they no longer exist. Just like today tried order a part from a site when I clicked on the e-mail in that site it showed OUTLOOK when I click send it has a box that says something about using default mail. It then shows a G mail acct that don't exist.So, if you open Outlook and go to Tools, E-mail accounts, View or change existing e-mail accounts, no accounts are shown? Right?

Download CCleaner, install and run it's Windows scan, Applications scan, and Issues scan. For info on configuring it, see Configuring CCleaner. When you run the Issues scan, backup the registry as prompted before removing the items CCleaner found. Repeat the Issues scan; it may find additional items upon a repeat scan.

Installing CCleaner will also install a Yahoo toolbar unless you elect not to do so. You'll see the option soon after starting the installation of CCleaner. I suggest you SKIP the Yahoo toolbar.

After using CCleaner, try the email link again and see whether gmail still appears.When in accts all I see is the two accounts that I listed and want. Nothing for G-mailThis what I am getting



The title of your post is OUTLOOK MAIL 2000. You said Outlook, not Outlook Express. Now, you're showing a screen shot of Outlook Express. Outlook does not equal Outlook Express; they are different programs.

Do you use a dialup Internet service?I don't see any place that says EXPRESS. When I click on help I get MICROSOFT OUTLOOK 2000

Ok see what you are talking about hadn't seen that before or paid any attention to it. I was just mad about not being able send mail or sign into the account. I had conntacted GOOGLE canceled all G-mail acct.
Would that be because of the G-mail thing? The screen shots are from the site I was trying to send mail to. Can they have me signed into EXPRESS without me really knowing what is going on?

In my OUTLOOK acct it all refers to OUTLOOK 2000.This help any? Appreciate the help, I'm a real NERD.


Open Outlook Express, go to Tools, Accounts, Mail, and make screen print and post it. Also, open Internet Explorer, go to Tools, Internet Options, Programs, and post a screen print.

When MAKING screen prints, Alt/Print Screen will CAPTURE only the application in focus.

You did not post the screen print for Programs, as shown here:


So, select the Programs tab and then post it. And, please make it smaller. There's no need to post an image that large.

And, still waiting the for other items requested in my previous post. Ok think I have the mystery solved, dumped EXPRESS reinstalled and got rid of G-mail addy. Thank you for your help. Being a NERD MAKES things about 4 times harder than for anyone else.
