After reinstalling all my programs and data my wife started using Outlook again and so we now have a second pst file. My wife has now bought herself a new LAPTOP and wants to merge the two pst files on her new computer. I have looked on the web and found two sites, 1 states to go to TOOLS - services, but I cannot FIND a services tab, and the second states to go to file - open - Outlook data file and then drag in the files, but when I try to drag the file over I get an error message "The process cannot access the file because another process has locked a portion of the file". Any ideas on how to copy the first file over and then merge the second? I've never tried that but, in your situation, I think I'd try it. Be sure to retain the .pst files until you know this has worked. I don't know where you found those sites but neither of them are steering you in the right direction. You need to import the .pst file.
