What do these programs promise to do? Missing .DLL files are not always related to a damaged registry.
What has caused the .DLL file to BECOME damaged?
Have you scanned for Viruses, Trojan Horses and Spyware?
Virus scanners AVG Free -- Anti virus scanner Trend Micro Housecall -- Online anti virus scanner.
Anti spy/malware Microsoft Antispyware -- Anti spyware scanner. Windows XP Home and Professional only. Spybot Search & Destroy -- Anti spyware scanner Adaware SE Personal -- Anti spyware scanner
Firewalls Use both a hardware and software firewall. Be advised as dual software firewalls may cause problems

Removal tools The following files are not substitutes for the ones DESCRIBED above. They are either diagnostic tools or removal tools for malware of a certain kind
HijackThis -- Manual malware remover. Post the HijackThis log generated only if requested! McAfee Stinger -- Virus removal tool. No substitute for a fully functional virus scanner! CWshredder -- CoolWebSearch removal tool. Widely known and persistant Hijacker.I have windows 98. I have anti-virus and that says I don't have any viruses. I tried to install Adobe Photoshop Elements which said I had a missing kernel32dll. There was an ad for problem fixers (a google ad BANNER) on this website. It SCANS the computor for free, tells me I have 238 problems and then wants me to buy the program for $37Chances are high that your problem will not be resolved by using the software you downloaded.
Use the software I provided you with.
You can also use freeware registry scanners:
Scanners Easy Cleaners -- Freeware registry scanner Crap Cleaner -- Freeware registry scanner/history cleaner
Manual registry editing only Registrar Lite -- Excellent replacement for Windows Regedit
Caution is advised when using these programs! Create backups of all important files before proceeding.

I wouldn't use anything that is not free or recommended on this forum. "Click here to solve your computer problems" is never a wise choice.
