Solve : pc will not download from disk? |

Quote from: Salmon Trout on May 18, 2010, 03:38:33 PM Does anyone except me know what the word "download" means? well you should as you class yourself as a guru download , as in download files etc from the web is working download photos from the camera and phone are not working anymoreDownload is only when you copy a file from a remote source to your PC. you don't "download" files from disks, or "download" installers from them- that's simply a copy operation; a disc in your CD drive can hardly be called a "remote" source. From the sounds of things you either have malware infecting the Drives upper/lower filters, or the drive is shot. FIRST try the Missing CD patch. Go to Device Manager(Start->Run, "Devmgmt.msc"), click a "+" sign next to IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers. You'll see two items: - ATA Channel0 (or Primary Channel) - ATA Channel1 (or Secondary Channel) Right click on each of them, and click Uninstall. Confirm. Restart Windows. They'll be automatically reinstalled. IF that doesn't fix it, try running "sfc /scannow". thank you bcp , i said the wrong thing in d/load copy or install i did not do the first thing as i did not understand it , 2nd one done and on restart there was a lot of new found hardware coming up on screen , also ran sfc /scannow and everything was ok so i will try camera and phone to-morrow night and let you know , unless you want to say something more to-night before i try |
