Solve : PFS First Choice installation with Windows 98 and XP?

Answer»

PFS First Choice was a very popular DOS based program back in the 80's and 90's. I still use it. It is much like Microsoft OFFICE in that it has separate 'modules' for word processing, databases, spreadsheets. I know many people are still using it and I also know many people have run into a BRICK wall when trying to use it with XP. I have the solution.

While First Choice will run just fine under Windows 98, when you try to install it in XP it will install and run, but it will be in a small window that cannot be maximized. I have heard that some USERS of early vcersions of XP could not get it to run at all.

I discovered that you can make th program expand to full screen mode by simply hitting "ALT" and "ENTER" key simultaneously.

If there seems to be a problem getting it to run at all, I would suggest RUNNING the Windows XP "Compatibility Wizard" and it should run just fine. You sure are having ALOT of fun with the Compatibility Wizard...

Someone still using PFS First Choice!! MS-Dos did not die it just came back from holiday
