Answer» I have heard differant OPINIONS on how long photographs on CD or DVD's will last. The range is between years to forever. I sure would like to know how MUCH faith I can put in trusting family photos to a Disc. I always make a copy of the original and put it in a safe deposit box. Thanks to those who respond to my questionMagetic MEDIA (Floppy Disks, Tapes, Unused Hard Drives) max 7 years actual is normally less but can be more. Optical Media (assuming CLEAN, cool environment) forever. That of course assumes there is still a device AVAILABLE 100s of years from now, or even 10 for that matter, that will read a CD.
