Solve : Pick a Good Screenshot Maker?

Answer»

This is not a commendation, more of a question. Some CH members try to show screenshots of their PC problems and the quality is terrible. Here are some things I have thought about. (What do you recommend?)

The Windows method:

For Windows 7
Click the Start button. In the search box, type Snipping Tool, and then, in the list of results, click Snipping Tool.

Windows 10 has more options.
Use Snipping Tool to capture screenshots

But Tom's Guide has more:

Also, GIMP is a cross-platform tool.

New users well do well to use any of the above to make high quality screenshots that are legible. Avoid using high compression JPG images.
What do you think?I've used Printkey2000 for decades. Probably as far back as Win 9x.
It works FINE on Win 7. I don't run 8 and have no intention of running 10 so I can't speak for those.

I click the PrintScreen button and the PROGRAM pops up. I can select a rectangular area and SAVE it as gif, jpeg, jpg, bmp, ICO and a few others or I can choose to print out what I've selected.

When selecting the full screen, it won't show the cursor. If you want an actual full screen with the cursor, you'll have to use another program.

Safe place to download v 5.10

Note: someone is mentioning a paid v 8. Don't fall for that. The 1999 v 5.10 is from the original developer.it's pretty easy use axure or snag it to capture the image. you can drag whatever area you want.
