whenever i try to use software to convert .AVI files to mp4 for my IPOD video, or on to VCD, it gets to about 40% completed then the computer suddenly shuts down, no WARNINGS or anything. I have tried different software (videora, nero, cucusoft) and all end the same way. i had no problem using the same software for same PURPOSE before, and i don't know what has changed.
i have heaps of room on my hard-drive, i regularily clean it out. what can i do?!??As a TEST to confirm this is not a hardware overheating issue, take the side of your case off and point an external fan toward the computer and then try the procedure. Any difference?i don't have a fan, although this sounds like a good suggestion. any other ideas to check overheating?Check your system temps, graphic card temps, etc. What hardware do you have?
