Answer» Hello people,
I have created a game for windows7 platform and want to put it on the internet and on cd for a small fee. I don't have any experience with this, and i was wondering if anyone KNOWS a good copy protection mechanism which i can use. I already found a few anti copy protection mechanisms, does anyone know these systems, or maybe do you know a better system instead? - lockPE doesnt seem to work for me because it causes errors when I try the program - the tool from logicprotect.com is way too expensive, i need something familair, but cheaper. - exesecure.com offers an exesecure tool which SEEMS to fit my needs but i cannot find anything about it on the web, has anyone used exesecure ?
Please let me know which mechanism you use if you ever did, I WOULD like to have some tips. Copy protection is only a problem for those who do not want to download the game illegally. I don't agree upon this, because it is a small game not a super widely used one or so. I just want some kind of barrier.Have you determined YET that this is a game people will pay for ? ? Do you have a link so we can chack it out ? ?no not yet, i'm sorry i don't want to publish it yet without protection. Why don't you ask an indy game developer what they use? If they even want to divulge such information. Very few indy developers seem to use copy protection, any way.
It is a tad weird that you don't have promotional stuff lying around when people show an interest but whatever works for your business model..

Thats like saying "Hey i just developed something really great...but i don't want anyone to see it in fear of it being stolen"...
