Solve : PowerISO?

Answer»

After installing poweriso on my computer, it has changed one of my icons in My Computer:

How can I change this back? I'm running windows XP SP3What is F:\?Its a MEMORY pin in that picture, but no matter what is asigned to F: it is always that icon, whether it be my external hardrive, my camera, my external DVD drive, my mp3 player, etc etc etc.So it was nothing before? There is no device connected to F:\?

What happens if you right click it and go to Properties? What do you get?Did you have an image file/.iso that was created but not unmounted ? ?Quote from: CARBON Dudeoxide on January 28, 2009, 02:11:10 AM

If I disconnect my memory pin the icon vanishes, as normal.

Under properties is just the normal dialog box for a external memory pin, nothing which can change the icon.

@Patio, No, I don't. The VDM is currently disabled, if THATS what you meanMemory pin? AKA Flash Drive?

When you go into the drive, look for an autorun file and delete it. (autorun.inf)

If you can't see an autorun, go to Notepad, go to File --> Save As --> autorun.inf and then Save to Desktop.
Copy the new autorun file from the Desktop to the root of the Memory Pin.This fixes it for the memory pin. How about all my other usb devices ?It happens with all USB Devices?

Are they like this on other computers as well? No, just this one. I'd restore, but then i'd have to reinstall AVAST and a whole SCORE of other softwares. On further experimentation, this is only effecting Drive F:
If I plug the same usb devices while something is asigned to drive F: they have the correct icon.I'm not sure what the problem may be....

Try logging into Safe Mode and see if it's the same.Quote from: patio on January 28, 2009, 06:39:05 AM

I still think this is the issue...About that, I can't check anymore. Now nothing will be asigned to F:, apart from the device i changed the icon for.*

I suppose that fixes the problem...

* By this i mean when I plug in other usb devices they get asigned to G: and H:, with nothing asigned to F: in My Computer (Its not present.)

This all happened after installing PowerISO. I, as well as Patio, think this is related to the current issue.
