Answer» Hi,
I'm new here, just FOUND this sight today. First I should tell everybody that I KNOW very little (at best) about computers. My problem is that i'm trying to connect a HP Photosmart 7850 printer to my computer however I do not have the disk THING that you put in the computer so i'm looking for a sight to download the printer driver. I can't go to the HP sight and get the info off there because I am running Windows 98 and Microsoft no longer supports that operation system so HP no longer offers the driver for Windows 98.. Right???
I guess my question is where can I get a driver for this printer or do I just throw the thing out a get a new printer. Thanks for your time.
Kaptrob.Click Start-Settings-Printers & Faxes-Add Printer-Local Printer-Check Auto Detect & Install-My Plug & Play Printer and FOLLOW the directions for install. That should get you setup.
All the above assumes that the printer is plugged in, attached to the computer and turned on.

He's running Win98 here...
You're correct. HP no longer has a driver for that printer for Win98, Win98SE nor WinME. The only thing i can suggest would be to try the Win2K DRIVERS from the same site... They will either work or not and you won't harm the system or the printer for trying. Good Luck. For your driver: Click Herekaptrob ......... You may also find your printer driver here.......... http://www.driverguide.com/ You will be asked to register, but it only takes a minute.
