Alright, BACK to posting.
Super Dave, i tried that and unfortunately nothing... Now I didn't have SP3 installed, somehow i missed that, that shouldn't effect anything though.? Still, i do plan on getting that up to date and trying again.

Along those lines: i realised i didn't have my system up to date so i installed the 98 (or such) priority updates i needed. I then downloaded the DRIVER that windows update suggested for it. Same results.

Good point spacecat9, but that's an issue i discovered who knows how long ago. At this point i do have a 550w psu in there. One interesting thing that this does bring up, though, is that, if i remember correctly, it actually worked when I had the lower grade psu in there. It's possible i still didn't have the driver installed at that point, and it could have to do with the driver that was running at that point and what my system was set up as, who knows. Just SOMETHING i thought i should bring up incase sp3 doesn't do it for me.where can i download software for free.

I remembered something else that could be connected. It's really its own problem, but i thought i should CHECK if it could be causing this problem as well before i abandoned this topic.

For whatever reason i can only use one of my two RAM slots. It's not that only one of the two work... it's that only one slot can be used at a time. I've tried different ram cards and know that's not the problem.

I won't go two much into detail, i'll make this it's own topic if i need to.

I just wanted to know if this might be connected?
