Solve : Problem with iTunes?

Answer»

I had iTunes working fine in my laptop, and then I decided to save space and screwed everything up. I have two hard drives, one in which has nothing at all on it. So I decided to move my music folder to that hard drive and just use that for music. The next time I tried to click on itunes it says "the folder itunes cannot be found or created and is required. the default location for this folder is inside the music folder." I've tried uninstalling and installing itunes but nothing works. I've tried moving my music folder back to where it was, with the rest of the default folders that say picture and documents and video but either I'm not doing it right or I can't. I can't get itunes to work to save my life. Any IDEAS? thanks

by the way I'm using VISTA on my Acer laptopTried System Restore?I'm not very computer savy... when that completely change my computer? Not at all. It'll return your registry settings to a date from before changes (if available).
Go Start, type in:
rstrui
Hit Enter.
System Restore window will open.
Follow steps. It didn't work. It said that it failed and I should try and system restore from a different point. It recommends a time about two hours ago but that is when the whole ordeal started. any other ideas?Try to uninstall iTunes, following directions from here:
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93698
Then, reinstall.ok ill try that nowNothing, same result  Is there not a way to change the path for the directory of your music folder within iTunes options?

That would be easier.

However, the default location for your music folder should be C:\Documents and Settings\\My Documents\My Music.

If you move it back to there it should be ok.(sorry to but-in Broni) Quote

Just found this which helps with setting up your music library with itunes:

http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/windows/tutorial/segment102081b.htmlneljan- i cant get into itunes to change anything, but if i ever do thats exactly what im gonna do.

so can i somehow CREATE a folder named music and set its location as what you said? sorry for being computer dumb guys. thanks a lot to both of youNavigate to My Computer > C:\ (the HD where itunes is installed) > Documents and settings > *your name* > My Documents.

Inside My Documents, you should have a 'My Music' folder (but I think this is the one you moved). If it's not there, create one (called 'my music'). Inside that folder, creat another folder called 'itunes'.

This may atleast let you get into itunes to change the location of your music library. Quote from: neljan on January 18, 2008, 10:34:57 PM
