Answer» Hi,
When i open Outlook 2003 on my computer and start a new e-mail, the computer slows down a lot. The curser won't keep up with my typing and sometimes stops all together so i have to wait a few seconds to see what i have typed. When i open up the task manager>performance tab, it lists computer usage at 100%. The computer also doesn't return to normal until i close outlook. I am running windows 2000. thnx for any help.Is you computer free of VIRUSES & spyware? Free Virus scan http://www.pandasoftware.com/activescan/ Free Spyware scan http://www.pandasoftware.com/products/spyxposer/com/spyxposer_principalYes, i regularly run norton anti-virus, ad-aware, spybot:search and destroy, and microsoft antispyware. And your norton anti-virus, ad-aware, spybot:search and destroy, and microsoft antispyware are fully uptodate as of today?yes, they are all up to date.ok, some more information.
The computer usage doesn't go to 100% when i click on outlook, it goes to 100% when i'm in outlook and click on the button to compose new mail message.
Also, i'm not sure if this is relevant, but whenever i open outlook, a microsoft WORD window also opens (word doesn't open a file or new document, it's just a window with nothing in it), but i usually just close it when it opens. And i just TESTED that if i don't close the word window then the computer usage doesn't go to 100% when i compose a new message. So does ANYBODY know of a way to fix this?what does the events log report> have you have a message like this>msimn.exe is using 99% of the CPUthe events viewer doesn't show anything about it.
