I recently did a complete system recovery on my hard drive and re-installed windows xp, but now after the install when i put in a memory stick duo into my pc to LOOK at pics, my pc does not even respond or acknowledge that there is a memory card in the slot. Is there a driver for this, because I am having a very difficult time looking for it. COULD someone please PROVIDE advice or help with getting this matter resolved. Have you gone to Windows Update to update this computer after the reinstall?My apologies for the delay, I have completely gone through all windows updates at this time and my memory card slot is stil not responding at all? What should I do?Does the card have a small micro-switch on it anywhere ? ?If your talking about my memory cards, yes they do?Then try the switch in another position...this is to prevent them from getting accidentally erased...I have tried that route already, they are in the unlock position, they still work on my labtop, but after the re-install and reformat on my PC it just does not respond at all when i put a memory card in the slot?What card reader is on the Desktop machine ? ?
Is it the CORRECT slot ? ?
Do any other type cards work in the desktop ? ? You may have to BORROW another one to test this.
If the card reader is on the front of the Desktop you may want to double-check the front panel leads are connected properly...refer to your MBoard manual for this...
