Solve : Program is LOST within computer!?

Answer»

This is going to sound very ridiculous, but I have somehow "lost" Corel Graphic SUITES in my COMPUTER!

It shows up when I go to "Add/Remove Programs" via the Control Panel but is nowhere to be found when searching Program Files.

Have tried searching, but can only search Files or Folders. When I do find a CDR file extension, it says "Open with unknown application."

Does this make any sense at all?
Have searched through the Admin login, as well as my regular one - where it normally is...

Please please help - am trying to get some Christmas crafting done and am feeling frantic. Do have the original box and discs, but there are packed away somewhere...

Arghhh.

Thanks for any help AT ALL you can offer!I guess if it's gone then all you can do is re-install it.
Does anyone else have access to your computer?
Do you know where the install directory was?Was installed to the Program Files/Corel/ directory.

Can dig out prog and reinstall, but cannot fathom how it is available to be removed via "Add/Remove Programs" but cannot be found in computer through various search methods.

Strange....

Thanks for the reply.
:-)And nope, nobody else has access to computer.

Is there anyway to just search for programs?
Perhaps I moved it into another program folder within Program Files?

You could just search for corel.
Start->Search->For folders & Files.
Are there any entries for it in the menu system? Thanks for all your help Fed, btw...

A search for files and folders turns up 35 objects, though none of them are larger than 15mb.

This is what I see in Add or Remove:

Did you look in the directories where the 35 files turned up?
What about the menu system?
How did you open corel when you last had it?Thanks again Fed, but I concede defeat to the computer demons which visit us all from TIME to time...

Nothing shows up in the Menu system, and nothing is gained from exploring the files found via the search query.
Clicking on the links gets me this message: This action is only valid for PRODUCTS which are currently installed.

Uh - computer says it IS installed in Add/Remove...

Last time I used it, back in July ACCORDING to the computer, I am guessing I opened it from the menu system - as I normally would do.

Guess it's time to "remove" that program, from wherever it is hidden and re-install.

Wish me better luck in finding the Corel box in my storage locker....going to need some there too!
;-)Sorta like removing something that ain't there.
I hope you find your software.Exactly - only in the world of computers could you remove something which isn't there!

Ah well.
Will dig out the storage locker tomorrow....

Thank you again for your time and suggestions.
