Solve : Program search? |
|
Answer» I am searching for a program to make files, as in files of other people. Sure I can improvise it with many programs starting with ms word but a program designed for it would make it much easier. You have to be more specific. Really. Dossier maybe. That is good enough. In common English computer jargon the term file is used for very simple objects. A dossier is much more. Dossier noun noun: dossier; plural noun: dossiers a collection of documents about a particular person, event, or subject. "we have a dossier on him" synonyms: file, report, case history; account, notes, document(s), DOCUMENTATION, data, information, evidence "the FBI's dossier on the suspect dates back to 1961" YES, file is also use as a synonym for dossier. Yet in PC usage it is not enough to make clear what it it really is a collection of this in a single package. A collection of things can be handled by a Data Base program. To transport your dossier from one computer to another, you will need a Data Base program installed on both computers. The Data Base will put the dossier in a wrapper to keep the parts together. Windows itself does not have an effective data base for the user to use on his data. So a third-party program has to be chosen. Some are both free and good. (Note: MS Accedes is effective, but it is sold separately.) Here are free data base programs most often used in Windows: 5 Easy To Use & Free Alternatives To Microsoft Access These programs have tools to import and export MATERIAL from one PC to another The MySql is very popular. I hope this is of some help to you. It is very helpful thank you.Glad to be of some help. A note about: OpenOffice Base / LibreOffice Base At one time there was one Open Office and then it split in two. The new product is called LibreOffice. There are some slight differences in the products. The Base program differs. One might prefer one to the other. Quote OpenOffice / LibreOffice (our LibreOffice review) offer a very similar database tool in Base, hence the inclusion of both under the same header (they do come from the same source-code, after all!). Base is a great all-rounder suited to both home and business needs, providing cross-database support and linking for other common database engines such as MySQL, PostgreSQL and of course, Microsoft Access. Both OpenOffice and LibreOffice are free products. Free to obtain, free to use and free to recommend to others. Yet they are competitive. I've heard about libre office. My proffesor in school showed them to us because it is free and serves like MS Office, I also used Linux a BIT so I had to use it. |
