Answer» I have a question.
For some reason, something on my computer CHANGES recently and I can't figure out how to get it back. Whenever I enter a blank CD into my E: drive, nothing happens. It used to open up a box prompting me to pick an application to open it with. This was very convenient and saved me lots of time. Today, I never got this prompt. No matter how many times I'd take the blank CD in and out, nothing would pop up. It was as if the computer wasn't reading the CD.
So I went to My Computer, right-clicked the E drive while the CD was in, and went to the autoplay tab. I made sure the prompting option was checked and it was. However, I decided to CHANGE something else on the properties which caused another problem. I went to the recording tab and checked 'enable cd recording on this drive'. Now everytime I put the blank cd in, it opens the Windows Media Player program. I just want to get back to the original setting where it would prompt me to pick a program to open it with. How can I do that?
Also, can anyone give me a POSSIBLE reason as to why it may not give me that prompt anymore? I don't remember changing anything recently that would result in this.
Thanks in advance! Are you using XP or Vista SpitefulKitty? And don't forgot to post what version it is. For example, for XP it's Home, Professional or Media Center. If you don't know this is how you can find out: Right click "My Computer" and select Properties. On the General tab under System: the first line should read "Microsoft Windows XP". The line below tells you the version. I have the Home edition.Get Autoplay Repair: http://www.topdrawerdownloads.com/download/104249 Don't forget to...
