Answer» On my desktop with windows 8 I can't ACCESS the web from either of my browsers: ie and mozilla. When I do click the BROWSER I get this message: The proxy server is refusing connections. Firefox is configured to use a proxy server that is refusing connections. The internet works fine on all other DEVICES. I flushed the DNS, re set the MODEM, restarted the PC, did ipconfig and release. Any idea what is going on, how to resolve, and if this is a windows 8 or Verizon problem?Go to Control PANEL - Internet Options first then remove or untick proxy settings box by Connections tab - LAN Settings.
