Solve : pulling off of an old hard drive?

Answer»

I installed a new hard DRIVE and set my OLD hard drive to slave. xp is on the new hard drive and everything seems to work fine. I want to run a word document but office is installed on the old hard drive and will not open. when I try to start winword it says the APPLICATION must be installed to run, and I have to run setup from the location it was originally installed. I looked in explorer and all the files are still there but I could not find an install program for it. I don't have a boot DISK for the individual programs, just a recovery disk that I cannot access with the new hard drive. I would love to know how to run word without having to rebuy it! thanksYour outta luck i'm afraid my friend...

However Open Office is Free and compatible with MSWord.thanks for your help. this was my thought also but I was HOPING there was a way around it. oh well....The other option i just considered if this is a fully liscensed ver. of Office and you have your COA you can borrow the MSOffice CD from someone...re-install it on your main drive...and re-register with MS.

NOTE The versions must match exactly.
