Answer» Hi, I have a PROBLEM I hope someone can help me with.
I am doing some work that requires me to download QuickTime so that I will receive an audio bell signal that notifies me a new task has arrived.
I was first directed to this page: http://www.phon.ucl.ac.uk/home/mark/...pluginhelp.htm
On this page there is also a link (which I used) to download QT 7.6.2 at the Apple website.
At the top of the page is a link that says, "How to play sound from a webpage". I visited that page and was SUCCESSFUL in HEARING ALL the audio sound LINKS marked available for my FireFox browser. It seems the only one I can't hear is the QT one I need.
Things I have done to try to resolve my issue:
~I checked within QT that the Mime setting was checked ~I checked within FF that the plugin was enabled ~I uninstalled QT and reinstalled QT twice ~I tried to change audio settings within QT but wasn't allowed. Maybe it can only be done at the time when an ITEM is being played with QT? ~I banged my head against a wall. J/K!
Things I have: Windows Vista Home Basic 32 Bit FireFox browser
If anyone could help me with this problem, I would very much appreciate it! Thanks!Have you checked the volume in Control Panel/Sounds and Multimedia ? ? I have now, since you've mentioned it. I set all of the things to ask me every time what to do with it (the main option they gave me was to auto use Windows Media Player) and doesn't work. I tried setting to use RealPlayer but that didn't work either. It didn't give me QuickTime or iTunes as options to select.
Very strange about the link. It worked the day I posted. But I just looked it up again and got this, which works for me right now: http://www.phon.ucl.ac.uk/home/mark/audio/pluginhelp.htm Not sure what the difference is.......
Thanks for trying to help, I really appreciate it!
