Answer» Could SOMEONE recommend me freeware software that can create a backup of my Battlefield 2 DVD which is slowly starting to crack? Don't you know someone with NERO Burning? It specifically has 'DVD Copy' to make a backup of your DVD in rapid time. Much obliged. I'm from Holland. I have allready had my neighbour use Nero Express to make an exact copy of the disk by selecting the appropiate option. (It was set to the default SETTINGS, I think. He wouldn't let me touch it.) However, it failed the 'data verification' test and now when I insert my DVD-ROM and try to play my game, it tells me to insert the game. Autorun does work, and the amount of files and size of the DVD are the exact same as the original. Are there certain options that need to be enabled or disabled whilst using Nero Express? I wouldn't like to bother my neighbour again with this, all I really need is some freeware software and instructions. The hardware is there, just not the know-how Sorry about the SUBJECT line, I OVERLOOKED it and thought it asked for my nickname. Pity, I am too far away from you. You could try using DVD Decrypter v3.5.4.0 It is always likely to be difficult with a cracked disk if the slightest oxydisation has taken place. Alcohol 120% is supposed to be good too but it is US$60 Most people say that using a - slow - burn speed gets good results. You may need several tries... I make backup disks as soon as I buy them and keep the originals as little used as possible.A workaround? Google for +"Battlefield 2" +nocd Quote A workaround?
Like I said, I don't bother with illegal software. Quote Pity, I am too far away from you. Thanks for the offer, Mac. The cracks have not yet reached the data part, only the plastic inner part. But they seem to expand each time I use the DVD. I would have liked to make a back-up, but I don't know how. Still don't now that I have to. Quote You could try using DVD Decrypter v3.5.4.0 With that program - will I be able to put the BF2 DVD in the reader, an empty DVD-R in the Rewriter, click a button and sit back? Is there a retail program which would do that for me? I wouldn't mind paying if it were good. Obviously, Nero Express can't. Even though you have to pay? I wonder why people would bother buying such a program. No wonder they spread it illegaly. It does a bad job! There are lots of chances in this world, some big, some small and some ridiculous.Quote There are lots of chances in this world, some big, some small and some ridiculous. I came here to learn how to create a backup DVD of my BF2 DVD. Not for a lesson in life about chance. If you can't help me, please don't bother posting Fed. Just wasted time for the both of us. Quote Not for a lesson in life about chance If you read the post in the context of the thread you may realise this is not the case, it was in fact a comment on a previous post. Quote If you can't help me, please don't bother posting Fed. I can help you but now I choose not to. Quote Just wasted time for the both of us. No more of my time being wasted on you. TTTH Battlefield 2 makes use of safedisc 2/3. Use DVD decrypter recommended by Mac and set it to ISO mode.Quote Like I said, I don't bother with illegal software. Sorry for the delay, DVD DYCRYPTER GUIDE Looks like you can sit back during the Read process and during the Write process, but there is a bit in the middle where you might have to work up a sweat! Thanks for taking the time, Mac and Raptor. I have tried to do as both SUGGESTED, but when I insert the DVD and try to play the game, it still tells me to insert the original disk. I kept the default settings using DVD Decrypter and did it exactly as the guide told me to (It was rather straight forward, actually). I don't think DVD Decrypter is suitable for games. I also tried using Warez Nero and Alcohol 120% (Sue me, I paid the full price for the game and I want a back-up.) In the end, I simply contacted the company where I bought the DVD-ROM and even though it has been three months ago or more, they will give me a refund when I ship my game back. Thanks for your time! Have learnt quite a bit in the process. RSellotape......may have helped on on a temporary bases. what is the temps of your pc.........which can also cause disks to crack..... |
