Answer» the laptop crashed and we DIDNT have the system operating disks so we used one from another computer got the laptop up and working but now it wont detect the internal modem. Think that the drivers have been deleted. Need the drivers FILES on a jump drive but when i go to dell website it tries to install them to the standalone im using INSTEAD of allowing me to copy them to a jumpdrive? Dell's driver page does not try to install anything. It allows you to download drivers to your computer. Just enter your service TAG number and it will TAKE you to the right drivers for your system.Inspiron 1545 has no modem, it has various wireless LAN cards. But do as Alan suggests.
