Answer» Good day sir. I was searching and hoping to solve my problem and i happen to stumble in this website. We almost have the same problem so i tried to do the things that you have posted in this forum but i didnt solve my problem. Hope you can help me fix the sound of my pc too. I reformated a friends pc but he doesnt have the cd for drivers. I spent almost 1 day to search for the sound driver. Well heres the info of the pc.

Thanks in advance!And oh, after doing what also patio did.. after i installed the driver it ses unable to start... somthing like "code 10"I see you have a realtek AC '97 audio, you can get the drivers here and when if there's a box to click AGREE to the above, check mark the box and then click next to get to the place to download the files.

well I got AC'97 audio on my computer and that's what I installed to get the sound working after doing a complete format and reinstallation of windows. . The description provided on website for the downloads say they are drivers.
But whatever is appropriate to get the NovicePCMAN's problem solved is most important.
