basically im trying to recover some files off of my external hard drive. i downloaded recuver but it is unable to determine system type. on my COMP it says the HD is FAT32
the hard drive was full of pictures, movies etc but i recently backed up my computer to it (which i can delete if needed)
does ANYONE have any IDEAS? im stumped
lewis (crap with COMPUTERS)You might try another adapter for the drive.
Or mount the drive in a DESKTOP PC.
The file system shouldn't matter...the files should either show up or not.
What happens if you look at the drive in Disk Management ? ?
Right clik My Computer...select Manage...then Disk Management.
Then right clik the drive and select properties...
Report back with your results.
