Answer» I formated hard drive on Toshiba, Portege 7000ct laptop, and installed win 2000, but can't connect to internet-lack of driver for network controller. Everest Home is attached. Not sure what other drivers I need so help would be appreciated. I can not do ms updates and can't download svs pack for win 2000. I have a red! at network controller!

Do you have a Toshiba CD labeled drivers ? ?
If so re-install the MBoard drivers and that should do it.I have NO Toshiba "anything" so I'm starting over.
I was in safe mode before when I copied to A: Drive and it didn't work apparently)

Look in:
82550, 82551QM, 82558, 82559 and 82562 DriversThe drivers listed will not work; I've used them all..one at a time. Intel site did not have correct driver either and now searching through Toshiba.
I keep getting messages that my AGP is disabled and ASPI is not working. Are there drivers for these as WELL? In device mgr, I have ? mark on other devices and ? and ! marks on network controller but no info on mfg. or driver info..the location is cardbus slot (PCI bus 20, device 0, functior) and the status is: the drivers for this device are not installed. Should I uninstall the device? Or try finding driver? Here is a listing of available drivers for that machine.

How did you install them?
You download this:
Controllers, Intel® 82550 FAST Ethernet Controller, Intel® 82558 32-bit PCI Bus LAN
It comes in self-extracting ".exe" file.
You run it, then you go to Device Manager, right click on "network controller" (that one with "!"), and click "Update driver".
